When last I shared this project, over a year ago, I’d gotten less than half way through and still had hopes of finishing before Christmas. Silly Tresa, when will you ever learn.
Seven Swans a Swimming
Six Geese a Laying
Five Golden Rings
Four Calling Birds
Three French Hens
Two Turtle Doves
A Partridge in a Pear Tree
So I didn’t make it in time for last Christmas, but I think I can manage it this time around. I just need to sew them up into little pear shaped ornaments. But after three years of work, if I don’t make it that far I’m just going to drape them on top of the tree and call it good enough.
I love this crosstitch project!! I also wanted to let you know I picked up the Holiday Crafts mag today and quickly thumbed through it and was so pleasantly surprised to see you have a super cute ornament project in it!! How exciting! Congratulations!
Even though your project took a little longer than expected, you should be proud of yourself! You inspired me to make them myself! I saw these the first time you posted them, and loved them. Just like you, it took me awhile to work my way through (I have an almost 3 year old and an almost 1 year old), and turned them into cute little gift bags. I plan to fill them, one at a time, in the days leading up to Christmas, with surprises for my little ones! Thank you so much for the inspiration! I posted a pic of all of them on my blog a few weeks ago here:http://nikkiinstitches.wordpress.com/2010/08/17/ghosts-of-christmas-past/Thanks again!!!Nikki
