Since launching Project Put Together, I have completely fallen down the rabbit hole of fashion blogs. I have gotten completely addicted to seeing how these stylish regular gals combine clothes to express their individual style. It has been totally inspirational and gotten me to change my thinking about how I approach getting dressed every morning, treating it like another opportunity to express myself and my creativity, use my skills, take care of myself, and stand out from the world.
Just like any creative endeavor, and especially anything on the internet, about 40% is a waste of time hacky junk, 40% is mediocre, and 20% is truly exceptional, inspiring, writing and styling. In my obsession I’ve been combing through and picking out the ones that I think are sublime, so I thought I’d share my favorites with you.
What I Wore written by Jessica Quirk
Why I love her: Her site is incredibly organized, including making a color palette for every one of her outfits. Her style is achievable, with the occasional totally inventive piece, but never done in a way that looks like she’s trying too hard. And I love how she wears her pants.
My Edit by Jentine
Why I love her: She is a landscape architect by day, dresser upper by night, which produces this amazing mix of glam earthiness. And she is the undisputed queen of thrift store shopping.
Kendi Everyday by Kendi
Why I love her: She was the blogger that started my obsession. Her look is something that I can take directly off the internet and incorporate into my life. She is classic.
eat. sleep. wear. by Kimberly Pesch
Why I love her: She is trendy without looking like an overdone victim of fashion whims. A little bit preppy, and totally killing it for fall with loads of cozy looks.
Atlantic Pacific by Bee
Why I love her: Her outfits are perfect. Like, almost a little too perfect. But so glam and classy and totally inventive.
B Jones Style by Beth Jones
Why I love her: She goes way further than I would ever go, but I love it. It took me a little while to warm up to her, but something about her intrigued me enough to keep checking out, even when that days outfit looked a little crazy when I imagined it picking up kids from school and going to the grocery store. Now, I love her for pushing me to think creatively, challenge my style boundaries, and be bold.
