Bounce Dryer Bar

I hope you guys know by now how picky I am when it comes to reviews and you’ll keep that in mind when I get all breathless about this product I’m about to describe to you. BlogHer and Bounce asked me to review the brand new Bounce Dryer Bar, and when I pulled out my first load of laundry, I honest to goodness said, “Wow.” out loud. The Bounce Dryer Bar is this slick, little invention that sticks to the inside of your dryer so that you never have to try to remember to toss in a dryer sheet again. It comes in a variety of scents, but since I get a little overwhelmed with a powerful smell, I asked for the unscented. You really can’t smell a thing. It doesn’t even smell like soap or chemicals like so many other “unscented” things.

I was told this did really well on pet hair, and with my two little dummies running around, that is a foremost concern. I decided to put this bar to the test and gave one of Atti’s black T-shirts to the kitties. After a day of them laying on it, I put it through a regular wash cycle and a dry cycle using the new Bounce Dryer Bar.

All that hair is gone. This photo is straight out of the dryer. I didn’t even brush off lint with my hand. This is what got me so excited I started talking to myself.

As an added test I washed this blanket I knitted up years ago. I used a cheap yarn and the kitties love to leave their mark on it, so it has been washed so many times the acrylic yarn is practically felted. Everything sticks to this thing — socks, pet hair, it even sticks to itself. Or at least it did. I pulled it out of the dryer and it fell like silk.

Whenever it’s time to wash a load of towels or something else that would do better without the fabric softener, you just push a little button and pop the bar out, run your load, and then pop it back in when you’re ready to use it again. It’s foolproof to use, and I am absolutely loving the results.

To celebrate the release of the Bounce Dryer Bar, Bounce and BlogHer have given me a Bounce Dryer Bar and a $50 Visa gift card to give away to one lucky reader. 1. So I tried this Bounce Dryer bar once. I thought it was (and is) a really great idea, but it fell off of the inside of my dryer after about 2 weeks. The most frustrating thing was that it wouldn't restick. I'd be willing to give it another shot though if I won! 🙂

  2. oh i would totes bake some cupcakes. or do some cooking techniques like my awesome laurel adviser once taught me before northern california stole her from us! miss you cute lady:)

  3. If I wasn't doing so much laundry, I'd spend more time working on my writing projects, in particular my cookbook of quick and easy recipes.

  4. Laundry is the bane of my existence! If I weren't doing laundry, I would probably watch TV I shouldn't be watching while knitting to my heart's content. 🙂

  5. If I wasn't doing laundry I'd be listening to some music with an awesome beat and dancing in my kitchen!!

  6. I have seen these things in the store and have been dying to try one. We have two long hair dogs and I was afraid it wouldn't work on their hair.

  7. I would definitely read. I know all chores are basically never-ending, but for some reason laundry just seems worse to me. I'd love to have something that makes it a bit easier!

  8. Wow — I would read, jog, shop — there are all kinds of things I'd rather do than doing laundry!

  13. the only thing i am concern with is the amount of softner and put on the clothes. i think it might dry out like old soap. i have not tried it but feel i might be disappointed in the quality.

  14. I'd sew, of course!! If you get a chance, stop by my blog and enter my little give-away. I have a wallhanging pattern from a Nova Scotia designer that sure is beautiful!! ~karen

  15. I'd spend those extra moments with my 9month old daughter, every extra minute of face time could mean great things for her development and future! 🙂

  16. I would have more time for reading blogs and surfing pinterest! I would love to preempt the dog hair from the
Golden retriever puppy coming to live with us in December!

  17. This is a great review. I'm on the fence on the bar – all I want is static control and I wasn't sure if it would work well for that. I also hate scented laundry and didn't know they made the bar in uncented. I need to check it out.

If I wasn't doing laundry I'd be doing other household chores – they never seem to end!

  18. I would be knitting. I love to do that. I also love baking. I love to read as well. So I guess I would be kept busy .

  19. Since I just finished a huge project for my Master's degree AND if I wasn't doing laundry, I'd get around to making all of the crafts for the holidays that I have been wanting to make for the past two years! I'm LOVING the bar and I MUST try it! Crossing my fingers for a W!!!

  20. I would for sure find some other cleaning process to do. I always have cleaning projects no matter what.

  21. I would love to try the new Bounce Bar. If I wasn't doing laundry, I would be baking more holiday goodies!

  22. Hmmm just not sure about his whole bounce bar thing. Seems easier just to throw a fabric sheet in the dryer. But if the results were better then it might be worth it.

  23. If I wasn't spending time doing laundry I'd be reading and listening to music. I have so many books I want to read.

  24. Spare Time.. hmmm.. spare time… oh.. enter more Blog Her contests. This is my me time so more me time.. 🙂

  25. If I weren't doing so much laundry, I'd be knitting, reading or crafting. There are so many things to do!

  26. if I wasn't doing laundry, I would be catch up on my reading and daily gossip!

  27. Stare at my precious children…after being away from them all day at work…I would just…stare at them, hug them, love them. Thanks so much for the chance to win! 🙂

  28. I love the bounce bar!!! And only use it or the sheets. Love the smell of bounce…scented and also love the unscented for hubbys hunting clothes. We have dog hair problem and it really solves alot of that problem with our clothes. !!!

  29. Dig out a cook book and try cooking up something new for dinner and surprise the family

  30. I am lucky, I rarely do laundry! I have a wonderful hubby that does it! But if I did do laundry and didn't have to spend my time doing it, I would be quilting or piecing a quilt!

  31. I've been using homemade laundry soap for awhile now and I discovered that I don't need fabric softener/dryer sheets at all anymore. (But I so totally cheat and use fabric crystals on my bed sheets. Can't help it, they smell soooo delicious!) I've been eyeing the dryer bar in the store for awhile now but can't force myself to spend that amount on something that may not work…. Yet…

  32. I would love to win this 'slick, little invention'. As a nanny to a 18 month old boy, who is implanted with a cochlear hearing devise in his left ear, this static control devise is a must. Static is his enemy. If static is present and he touches the external component it will shock him. I am not sure of all the ramifications of static shock to him as he was activated this past Monday – I am learning new things about cochlear daily – but I do know it would not be good for him. He is just a little fellow and has been through so much already he does not deserve static shock! With this comment I hope he wins!

  33. I just bought one of these last week but haven't used it yet.
Thanks to your suggestion, I am going right downstairs to put in a load of laundry and try it out.

  34. If I weren't doing laundry, I would do the household cleaning, such as cleaning the cabinet, cupboard, refrigerator etc. Thanks for the giveaway.

  35. If I weren't doing laundry, I would just enjoy a quite afternoon of reading or flipping thru all the holiday catalogs I have piled up around here! LOL
