Olay Body Wash

After the public humiliation I created for myself by bearing my mustache for all the world to see, Olay figured they owed me one and passed along their new body wash to try. This was a much, much easier assignment. Instead of parading around all my unwanted hair, I get to shower with luxurious soap. Not such a bad deal.

What makes Olay Ultra Moisture Body Wash so luxurious is the amount of moisturizing it does for you. It aims to condition your skin and moisturize it so thoroughly that you’ll eventually have all the moisture you need just from showering, and you can skip your regular lotion step. As I’ve been learning to properly take care of myself with Project Put Together, I’ve been adding and adding steps to my morning routine. All good, important, health-promoting steps, but still, it takes a lot of time to take care of yourself. The thought of streamlining and taking a couple of steps out was really exciting. But in actuality, this wasn’t quite removing steps for me. I have a huge basket full of lotions collecting dust under the sink that I NEVER use. I don’t like the greasy feeling, I don’t like having my hands all messy, I don’t like sticking to my clothes, and lotion can rarely keep up with my dry skin so I end up not even bothering. Really, using this body wash is more like merging a step I’ve been neglecting with what I’m already doing. Which sounds like the best possible way to introduce a new routine to me.

So far I’ve used this body wash twice, so I’m technically not yet to the 24-hour protection yet, but I’m still noticing a significant difference. In today’s shower I used this body wash everywhere but my face, and washed my face with my regular soap. My face feels tight and dry, the rest of me feels great. And for someone like me who has chronic dry skin, being able to say my skin feels great is praise like singing. The body wash has a lovely, subtle smell that reminds me of jasmine, but it’s not remotely overwhelming.

As I sat down to write this my husband, Bear, came over and confessed that he’s been using it. It doesn’t smell ‘too girly’ for him to use, and he said that he’s seen a dramatic improvement in the dry skin he gets from shaving. Do you know how much medicated lotion I have bought that man? And it took my fancy body wash for him to finally address the problem. I’d get mad at him if I weren’t guilty of the very same thing.

  1. I cut my hair into a wash and tousel style so that I can let it dry while I get my son ready for the day, then come back a half hour later when it's mostly dry, put in a little wax and I'm ready to go. So much better than drying it, straightening it and mulitple products. Plus, my hair is healthier.

  2. I simplify my morning beauty routine by really keeping makeup very simple. I only wear blush and lip gloss on any given day, sometimes concealer if my skin needs it, and mascara only on special occasions!

  3. I simplify my routine by keeping my skin well moisturized, and when in a hurry, I just add some blush.

  4. I simplify my routine by blow drying my hair at night and using minimal makeup

  5. I simplify my routine by uh…. not having one? Yes, I'm in schubby, dowdy momland… partly because I never learned how to do the whole make up and hair thing when I was young and it is too embarrassing to admit that to other ladies. Luckily my skin is good enough that I can get away with not doing anything or wearing makeup, but my hair is shameful at the moment. Has not been cut or colored since January of last year and it is just hanging there looking pathetic.

  6. I keep it simple by letting my hair air-dry in a bun, or even just sleeping with it damp. It gives me pretty waves. Hair that resembles what I get back home by the beach and a bright lipstick and I'm good for the day!

  7. I simplify my routine by deciding what I am wearing several days ahead. Then I can just grab and go in the mornings!

  8. I simplify my routine by organizing more. I lay out the clothes that I plan to wear. Print off to do lists.

  9. I have a nice vanity area in my bathroom that I'm able to keep everything organized and ready for my morning routine. Showering at night helps saves time in my routine as well

  10. I try to be as simple as possible in the mornings… just a little lip gloss and mascara! I also shower at night too so I can spend more time sleeping 🙂

  11. I simplify my routine by while in the bath, i wash my face with a moisturizing body wash, no particular kind, it varies, using a puff body scrubber (is that what you call those lil things) so this cleanses, moisturizes, and exfoliates in one step:) for a Toner i use an egg white once a week. works great. just put it on while in the tub and allow to dry while you finish bathing , wash it off just before getting out. skin feels great. makeup goes on so smooth after this. 🙂

  12. At night, I shower and let my hair dry naturally…In the morning, I just refresh the curls with a little spritz. I put on lotion right after the shower too to help moisturize

  13. I simplify my beauty routine by wearing a minimal amount of makeup and letting my hair dry naturally.

  14. I simplify my routine by using tinted moisturizer and lip gloss in order to save time in the morning.

  15. Some of the ways that I’m able to simplify my morning beauty routine? I put less make ups. Yes, it took me a while to get used to it but I’m loving it so far.

  16. I don't imagine Olay is looking for this suggestion, but I simplify my routine by not using anything with SLS (sulfates) in it. My skin is softer and doesn't dry like it used to.

  17. I simplify my beauty routine by keeping my hair simple and wearing minimal makeup – mascara and lipstick.

  18. I use 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner! I also cleanse my face while showering instead of doing so at the sink.

  19. I don't use much body wash so my skin doesn't get dry out and I save time by not moisturizing. Moisturizing body wash sounds better though. thanks for the review and giveaway.

  23. I give myself a mask while coroing my hair, so that's one of my two for one tips, since it will all rinse off anyways.

  24. I meant coloring my hair and I think you get the picture and sometimes I sing, too.

  25. I wash my hair at night and then in the morning I just use moisturizer on my face.

  26. I try to do as much as I can the night before. That way I'm not rushing around in the morning trying to get backpacks together, lunches made, and everyone dressed and ready to go!

  28. Best advice is to keep things simple. I keep my hair in a cute, simple style and take it easy on the make up . Makes the morning routine so much easier.
