I had never heard of this plant until I moved to San Diego. It was all over the place there and since discovering it, I’m suddenly seeing it everywhere I go. This particular plant is used as a shrub outside the church I go to every Sunday, but I’ve also seen it climbing along fences, adorning mailboxes and trellises, and used as a hedge. Now that we’re in these hot summer months, the smell of jasmine is everywhere and it is delicious. I think I’ll think of summer whenever I smell jasmine for the rest of my life.

So THAT'S what those are called. We had a ton of them earlier in the year on the sidewalks that I take Zena. I never knew they were jasmine. I don't know what kind of jasmine they are, but I called them helicopter flowers for the longest time.

Kate! I love seeing your picture! You’re beautiful!
Thank you! I actually need to update my photo; those three top teeth on the left are hasta la vista! My dentist drilled them away and put in temporary crowns that should last 4 years because they needed them (and I just got a root canal on Tuesday meaning my teeth have changed yet again! GAH!) I've had more work done on my little dental crisis. It's getting fixed slowly!
All of my newer photos–and my new found hobby of photography–are on my Facebook (which is where I am most of my waking hours if you ever want to chat), and I forget to update my Gravatar!
